It’s pretty remarkable how frazzled we are these days — we run from meeting to meeting, in-between check our email (and Twitter and Facebook), talk on the phone while we are reading a news article and consume our blogs while we eat lunch. All of this in the name of productivity — or better: Keeping up.
Science tells us that we need headspace to really create, to be creative. We need time away from our devices, from meetings, from interactions to do real work.
Every time I need to create something — I need to be alone. Away from any distraction. Just me, a piece of paper and space. Making the main thing the main thing and ignoring anything and everything else.
When was the last time you actually took some time to think? Think — not do.
